               ANDROID IS BEGGING

The analysis found that your typical Android developer makes only about 0.02% 2% of what an iPhone app developer makes. Fearing that Android developers will become a endangered species, Falzone started the Paid App Pledge, encouraging Android users to spend $5 on apps weekly and spread the pledge to their friends via Twitter.

Nokia still holds the top spot with 35% of the global handset market. Samsung is next with 20.6%, LG has 8.6%, RIM has 3.4%, and Apple takes seventh place on the list with 2.7% of the market. The top smartphone OS in the world is Symbian with 44.3% of the market, Blackberry OS is next with 19.4% of the market, iPhone has 15.4% of the market, with Android at 9.6% of the market. Windows Mobile has 6.8% of the smartphone OS markets

4.The Internet umbrella, named Pileus (meaning the head of a mushroom) was created by two young graduate students. Second-year doctoral student Matsumoto Takashi, 27, and first-year master’s student Hashimoto Sho, 22, of Keio University’s Graduate School of Media and Governance were motivated by a desire to make walking on rainy days more enjoyable.

Future Vision

The Internet Umbrella has two main functions. One is browsing the online photo-sharing site Flickr. Not only can the umbrella display photos from the site; using the camera in the handle it can also take pictures and upload them to the Internet via a wireless connection. Pileus users can thus view each other’s photo streams. The umbrella can also display movies from the video-sharing site YouTube.

The other key function of the device is to help users find their way around by displaying 3D maps using Google Earth. The umbrella “knows” the user’s location (thanks to GPS) and direction (thanks to the digital compass), so it can show a bird’s-eye map of the surrounding area, enabling the user to navigate streets with ease. Both functions are easily controlled by rotating the grip of the umbrella. The team is currently working on enabling photos taken with the umbrella to be displayed on the map, along with their location.

  BEGGING FOR SPEED

India ranks No.114 globally in terms of average internet speed: Study 03 May, 2010

According to Akamai Technologies’ latest State of the Internet report, India ranks No.114 globally in terms of average internet connection speed. The report reveals that the country had an average internet connection speed of 849 Kbps (kilo bits per second) in the fourth quarter ended March 2010. In the previous quarter, India had an average internet connection speed of 897 Kbps and occupied 97th position globally in terms of average internet connection speed.

Globally, the average connection speed in the March 2010 ended quarter was 1.7 Mbps (mega bits per second). South Korea maintained the highest average connection speed at 11.7 Mbps. Haryana topped the list of Indian states, with an average speed of 1,103 kbps, followed by Kerala with an average speed of 1,065 Kbps.  Read  it  guys.......it is really interesting among all
hey guys ! few days ago i wrote a line
"how many phones will Nokia launch to combat an Apple iphone"
but i was wrong to compare Nokia with Apple. One of my friend "ANUPAM SHARMA" told me about google tablets and when i searched about it i got the idea
"Dude, Nokia is not in the race, first serious challenge is coming from google."

google tablets with Chrome OS

Google and HTC Working On a Chrome OS Tablet
Smarthouse, an Australian publication, reports that HTC and Google have been collaborating "for the past 18 months" and have produced "several working models of a touch tablet," including one outfitted with Google's Chrome OS.

Google and Verizon working on a Android OS Tablet
Google is working with Verizon to launch a Google tablet, according to the Wall Street Journal. News site Bloomberg confirms, and also says the device will be based on Google's Android operating system. We already have an idea what a Chrome OS tablet might look like.

One of the most important differences between Google Android tablets and the iPad is cost. Like most Apple products, the iPad is not cheap and starts at a whopping $499 while an Android tablet such as the zenPad starts at $155. The price for an iPad seems a little extreme considering some computers and netbooks can be found for cheaper.

The possibilities of competition with the iPad is endless. There is always something bigger and better on the horizon of technology.

LIVING GOD OF SCIENCE sitting QUIET

Stephen Hawking – A fine exemplar of living positive life

HE has been described as the most brilliant living genius. In the realm of physics, he is ranked only after Galileo Galilei, Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein.

Stephen Hawking is more than deserving of the title of “world’s most famous living scientist”. He has achieved so much, charting new frontiers despite his disabilities and being confined to a wheelchair.

At 68, his health has deteriorated further but it is not stopping him, just as it has never stopped him before. Afflicted with neuro-muscular dystrophy since 21, he is unable to use his fingers and has long lost his ability to speak. He has nurses watching over him 24 hours a day.

He can only communicate using facial gestures including eye blinks. His computerised voice system is controlled by using a blink-activated infrared monitor embedded in his glasses.
There is a barely perceptible movement of his lips but his eyes are incredibly knowing.
It is hard to associate the Hawking in a wheelchair with the young Hawking who loved riding horses and coxed a rowing team when he was studying at Oxford.

“There are many things I want to achieve. If we lose our dreams, we will die,” he said.
“I don’t have much that is positive to say about the motor neurone disease but it has taught me not to pity myself, because others are worse off, and to get on with what I can still do.”

Wireless Power Harvesting for Cell Phones
Nokia hopes to create a device that could harvest enough power to keep a cell phone topped up.
A cell phone that never needs recharging might sound too good to be true, but Nokia says it's developing technology that could draw enough power from ambient radio waves to keep a cell-phone handset topped up.

Ambient electromagnetic radiation--emitted from Wi-Fi transmitters, cell-phone antennas, TV masts, and other sources--could be converted into enough electrical current to keep a battery topped up, says Markku Rouvala, a researcher from the Nokia Research Centre, in Cambridge, U.K.
The Nokia device will work on the same principles as a crystal radio set or radio frequency identification (RFID) tag: by converting electromagnetic waves into an electrical signal. This requires two passive circuits. "Even if you are only getting microwatts, you can still harvest energy, provided your circuit is not using more power than it's receiving," Rouvala says.
Historically, energy-harvesting technologies have only been found in niche markets, powering wireless sensors and RFID tags in particular. If Nokia's claims stand up, then it could push energy harvesting into mainstream consumer devices.

                                         MOUSE  (चूहा )

Computer mouse has gone through a remarkable transformation from those good old days till today. From serial port to wireless, metal ball to laser… you name it! Mice today are engineered to your comfort and needs.

Computer mouse was first invented by Douglas Engelbart and his team at Stanford Research Institute. At that time, its body was made from wood.. which doesn’t look like a mouse at all! It was introduced to the public in a demonstration on December 9, 1968 in San Francisco. Here is the epic picture of the first mouse.

                                         BUT REAL QUESTION IS ?

Nokia N8,N9..How many phones will Nokia Launch to combat an iPhone?

Nokia has launched yet another ‘world’ changing’ product, N8. I call it yet another product, because some of the earlier ‘game changer’ products like N97, N900 failed to create significant impact and there is no reason why N8 can be ‘that’ phone, the world is waiting for.

For Nokia, more phones means more chances of more customers buying Nokia phones. Basically, customers now have so many choices of Nokia phones, that they will eventually end up buying atleast 1 Nokia phone.
That’s what Nokia thinks.And to add to this, there are easy-to-remember names – 3110, 2130, 5130, N72, N97, N8, C Series, E Series (WT-F).
On the other hand, you have iPhone.
Limited options. Clear cut feature difference between the models.
Apple always starts with high end customers, creates wow factor with user experience, creates market demand, expands ecosystem of app developers and launches a mini version for the mass.

                                             BUGATTI VEYRON
•A W-16 engine that can produce 1,001 horsepower

•A top speed of 250+ mph (400+ kph)
•A zero-to-60 time of three seconds
•A zero-to-180 time of 14 seconds
•A price tag somewhere in the $1.2 million range

The Bugatti Veyron's 16-cylinder monster engine produces 1,001 horsepower for a top speed of more than 250 mph. And it's a passenger car.

The transmission is unique, in particular because it has to harness about twice as much torque as any previous sports-car transmission. It has:

•Seven gears
•A dual clutch system
•Sequential shifting
•A paddle-driven, computer-controlled shifting system

aLL aBOUT "wimax" tECHNOLOGY

WiMax (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is a wireless broadband technology, which supports point to multi-point (PMP) broadband wireless access.

Range :  The IEEE wireless standard has a range of up to 30 miles, and can deliver broadband at around 75 megabits per second. This is theoretically, 20 times faster than a commercially available wireless broadband.

Application :  WiMax can be used for wireless networking like the popular WiFi. WiMax, a second-generation protocol, allows higher data rates over longer distances, efficient use of bandwidth, and avoids interference almost to a minimum. WiMax can be termed partially a successor to the Wi-Fi protocol, which is measured in feet, and works, over shorter distances.

As we learnt in the previous pages, that WiMax was formed to complement Bluetooth and WiFi technologies, let us look at the differences in each of these:

Parameters           WiMax                WLAN              Bluetooth

Frequency            2 ~V 11 GHz      2.4 GHz            Varies

Range                 ~31 miles            ~100 metres      ~10 metres
